Chipboard Books

Today I felt like playing with these cool chipboard
books I found at Michael's for $1!
These are such a cool find these are sold at
LSS for something like $6.00 and up so I picked up
lots of them. I had no real projects planned for them
but as I need gifts they are here and ready to alter.
You can find them in the DOLLAR BINS.
Enjoy and have a GREAT week!

Ikea Lamp
Fun with Alcohol Inks!

Ikea Knappa Lamp kit $24.99

In a kit there are 48 of these pieces.

You will need Alcohol Ink I chose these 4 colors but you
can choose and many as you want.
Stream, Meadow, Denim, Stonewashed
You will also need rubber gloves, a 1/4 of a round sponge,
heavy craft paper to cover your work space. You must
work fast the ink dries really fast.

Take you ink bottles and drop large drops of ink onto
your shade pieces. Take you sponge and with an up and down
motion sponge all the colors so that they are all touching
each other.

This is what it will look like after you sponge it.

This is what it looks like dry.
Big change! It's really cool to watch!
I used less than half of a bottle of ink. A little goes a long way!

My inspiration was beach glass. I love the look
of beach glass in a vase and wanted that look.
This hangs to the left of my craft desk over my palm tree.

This is what it looks like with the lights off.
I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

So in a little over an hour of inkin' fun I now have a
really fun lamp. I really like how it turned out!

Less than 2 hours to complete, less than $40
Really cool fun lamp!

Baby Boy Gift

Welcome Baby Boy Gift.
My Friend Jamie is having a Little Boy sometime this month.
I'm sending this to her as her Welcome Baby Gift.
This is designed so once she has the little guy she adds a
picture every month on the front and then she can add a small photo and journal about his milestones, apt, vacations, etc on the back. This goes from Birth to 1 year. I really hope she likes this. I know with two little ones it's hard to find the time to scrapbook and preserve all those precious memories but I really hope this helps! I didn't embellish the pages much it's really hard to do when you don't have the pictures to work with but she is a scrapbooker so I'm sure she can add those special touches after adding pictures.
Thanks for taking a peek.

Nestabilities

My Dear Wonderful and Loving Husband Keith bought me four sets of nestabilities for Christmas.
Today was the first time I've had the time to use them.
I couldn't find a sandwich that would work without embossing. So after searching the net with no luck I just started playing with my Big Shot and came up with this sandwich.
Bottom-Top
Bottom platform, nestie, CS (double thin CS/single thick CS),
1 clear cutting mat, red crease pad on top.
This doesn't damage the platform and doesn't cut into the cutting pad anymore than a normal sizzix die.
This works for my machine with no embossing. Hope this
works for all of you.

Eastern Blooms Birthday

Eastern Blooms Birthday.
This is the better of the two Eastern Blooms Birthday cards I
made today.
This was a real challenge for me I'm not a real fan of this
set (not sure why I have it) and I don't use soft subtles much
but I like how these turned out. These will make nice winter birthday cards.
