I'm always in charge of the handmade gift for the Pastor at my Mothers church....no idea how this happened but....it did. So when my Mother told me she is making a hot cocoa themed gift basket for him this year this idea came to mind. Really easy to make these and I found the tiles on sale at Lowes .20 each not bad less than a $1 for the set of four. That's a nice gift that's easy on the bank acct. Always a good thing!

Christmas Advent Calendar

Christmas Advent Calendar.
Thank you Jeaneen!
Jeaneen a local MD lady gave me this really cute Making Memories Advent kit. Really cool and what a time saver this is!
Jeaneen doesn't have a blog or I would link you to her now sorry but you can look her up on SCS as JTAX.
Ok to the project...We countdown to Christmas so that's why my numbers are the way they are. My kids like all kids I'm sure ask everyday How many days till Christmas. This is how I deal with this question. It's what works for them. I wanted to keep it pretty simple so we could focus on the number and not the pretty stuff so that's why so little embellishments. This is a good size box I was able to get two small candy items in each drawer one for each of my boys so worked out great. This is by Making Memories I have no idea where Jeaneen found it but I'm sure it's online and in big box stores. The name is Fa La La Advent Calendar box and came with the ribbon, rub-ons, and brads. The only thing I added was the Prima flowers because we could still see the number the kit came with paper poinsettia flowers so you really don't have to buy anything with this kit.
Extras used Red Liner Tape, and my crop-a-dile, star dust pen, my bow maker.
Merry Christmas countdown to all!

Western B-Day

My Nephew is turning 14.
Wow it really does seem like he should still be riding his tricycle
around in my Mom's backyard. My Nephew has been on horse back from the time he could hold his own head up. He rides in the IL Junior National Rodeo and does quiet well. He won all around cowboy this year! For those of you who don't speak rodeo that is 1st place (huge buckle)! LOL
I would have made the horse darker to match the paper more
but Donnie's horse Snort is this color. Yes his name is Snort
Donnie was 7-8 when he named him. Yeah must be a boy thing.
All paper and CS is SU, hardware is SU, Brilliance Black Ink, SU close to cocoa ink, Copics, Nesties large oval (also used for the stencil effect), sponge, Stamp is unknown found it in Amish country Thank you Cindy!
Have a great week y'all!

Cancer has touched so many.

Think Pink!

With sadness in my heart I want to share this with you.
I just found out yesterday that my favorite High School Teacher lost his battle with cancer on Aug 26th. He was a really great teacher and the world lost a really good person. I'm sorry he is gone but hope he has now found peace. He was a gay man in small town middle America he never had an easy life. It's to bad that so many people missed out on knowing a really great person because of there own ignorance. Rest in peace Mr. W and know that I'm thankful that I got to know you. I hope your eternity is made up of what you enjoyed so much about life. I hope it's forever summer and you are soaking up some rays on the beautiful beaches of heaven.
